Obviously, the history of African Americans is not simply something of the past. The history of blacks in America carries on in today's world. Problems like ending racial discrimination and fighting for positive action are every bit as significant as integration was a generation ago. These days we have it easier than the last generation had. Not only do we have equal rights for nearly everyone, but we also have complete libraries full of African American history that we can look up. The information is all over the place, in the book shops, in the libraries, and on the Internet. What you have to do is simply look for it and it is there. By studying the history of African Americans, we can make history ourselves.
